Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance/Handyman to join our team at Sai Sea City Hotel in Colombo. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure our hotel facilities are well-maintained and operational. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine inspections of hotel premises and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Perform minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
• Repair and maintain hotel fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
• Address guest requests for maintenance promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain the hotel's exterior, including landscaping, painting, and general upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Manage and maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of events and functions within the hotel.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a maintenance worker, handyman, or similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to perform minor carpentry, painting, and masonry work.
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training or certification in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
